City Hall

From City Hall: (l)City Hall will be closed Monday, September 5, for Labor Day. (2) A new brush pile location is being worked on. There is NO place open right now. The old place at the south end of town is private property-Please stop dumping brush there. (3) Water meters will start being installed September 19 and there will be people on your property to do that. The new meters will catch seepage and result in more exact readings.

Skidmore City Council meets September 8 at 6:00pm at Newton Hall.

Fresh Food Mobile Drop

Second Harvest will NOT be dropping off any fresh food in September or any time in the future, as far as we know.

Food Pantry

It will be September 26 and 27 from 4-6pm at Newton Hall. Please line up coming down the street. You will have to come in and sign up but there are no income restrictions. It is for residents in the Nodaway Holt school district or a county resident that hasn’t picked up at a previous location.

From City Hall

(1)Porter Trash Service has raised their rates. Starting in August, the trash rate for residential will be $20.00 Dumpsters will be $80. Housing will increase to $130. Poly Carts will increase to $7.00 (2) City Hall will be closed August 2 for the election and August 9 for training.

THANK YOU to ALL the people involved in putting on a fun Punkin Show. The weather was great, good food was eaten, and there was a lot of laughter and stories and enjoyment!

Have you noticed the depot is being painted and it’s looking nice! Each can of paint is $60 and the city is in need of cash donations for the paint. You may drop off your donation at City Hall.

City Hall

Skidmore City Hall will be closed July 4^th. July 1 is the date $10 dog licenses are due. Brush pile is closed until August. There will be construction with the installing of the new water meters.

City-wide garage sales

City-wide garage sales will be held June 3-5, in conjunction with Maitland and Graham. Contact City Hall if you want your sale on the list.

Skidmore City Council

Dog Licenses

July 1 is the date that $10 dog licenses are due. Pet vaccinations will be given June 11^th from 9:30-11am at the park.

Movie Night

Skidmore Community Betterment is sponsoring a Movie Night at the park June 26. Hot dogs and chips will be served and Kool Kats will be there for you to purchase at 7:00pm. Family friendly movie will start at 8:00pm. Bring chairs or blankets for your use.

2021 Consumer Confidence Report

The Skidmore 2021 CCR or Consumer Confidence Report is the annual water quality report. This is now available for public viewing at City Hall and the Post Office. This report will not be mailed out; however, the current CCR is available at http://dnr.mo.gov/ccr/MO1010744.pdf

Pelts in the Park

Missouri Department of Conservation will be presenting a free program May 14 at our city park. “Pelts in the Park” will begin at 1 0am and is open to all, especially children.

City Wide clean-up

City Wide clean-up will be May 16-23. There will be dumpsters at the north end of town for Skidmore residents.

Skidmore Community Betterment

Skidmore Community Betterment will meet April 4 at 6:00pm at Newton Hall.

Municipal Election

Municipal Election is Tuesday, April 5, in Newton Hall for those in Monroe Township. Polls will be open 6:00am-7:00pm. Bring your drivers’ license or voter id card.

Graham Fish Fry

Graham Fish Fry dinner will be April 2 from 4:30-7:00 pm. Adults $12, under 12 years old $5.00.

Upcoming Activities

There will be egg dying and other activities held on Sunday, April 10, at 2:00pm at Newton Hall, sponsored by the Skidmore United Methodist Church.

Election Information

On the April 5, 2022, ballot: PLEASE VOTE YES!

NON-ELECTION CLAUSE – VOTE (YES) OR (NO)

(SHALL THE CITY OF SKIDMORE BE ALLOWED TO FOREGO AN ELECTION IF THE NUMBER OF CANIDATES FILED IS EQUAL TO THE NUMBER OF SEATS TO BE FILLED). This will save the city money by NOT having an election if the number of candidates who filed match the number of open seats. This does not prevent certified write ins from filing as their deadlines are different. Each election the city holds cost anywhere from$125 to $350 – Meagan Morrow
